The aim of the section is the presentation of the basic theoretical concepts that are related to leadership, the description of the main leadership theories (such as trait theories, behavior theories, contingency theories and contemporary views of leadership), as well as the presentation of study results that concern leadership issues in the context of the shipping industry.
The aim of the section is the presentation of the basic concepts that are related to communication in business organizations, the description of the basic goals of communication in companies, the identification of various types of communication in companies, the analysis of the barriers to effective communication and ways to overcome these barriers, as well as the presentation of study results that concern communication issues in the context of the shipping industry.
The aim of the section is the presentation of the basic concepts that are related to the presence of groups in business organizations, the description of the main types of groups in companies, the identification of the different stages of group development, the presentation of the factors that are associated with group effectiveness, the analysis of the main characteristics that are related to groups (such as the roles, norms, cohesiveness and reasons for ineffective group decision making), the brief description of group decision making techniques, as well as the presentation of study results that concern group issues in the context of the shipping industry.
